How to Apply for a Passport?
- Request for a Passport Appointment from DFA.
- Fill up the Application from
- Bring PSA Birth Certificate
- for married females, bring a marriage certificate
- Valid id with 1 photo copy, list of valid ids
What Are the Visa Requirements?
- Passport 6 months valid (old & new)
- PSA Birth Certificate (if married with marriage certificate)
- if the applicant is late registration submit Baptismal certificate, School record (form 137)
- Photo (2x1.4inches, white background, not edited)
- Application form
- Itinerary / Schedule of Stay
- Bank certificate with Available Daily Balance (ADB) (balance within the last 6 months should be shown)
- if ADB in the last 6 months is not shown, you must submit a bank statement to show the transactions for the last 6 months
- Tax Payment Certificate
- for employed, form 2316 (with signature of employer and employee)
- for business owners, proof of actual payment of tax must be submitted in addition to the BIR tax Payment certificate form (photocopy allowed)
- Certificate of Employment (must indicate period of employment, salary and position)
- for business owners, DTI, and Mayors permit should be submitted
- for retirees, full-time housewife, unemployed, and those who cant provide tax payment certificate and employment certificate, letter of explanation must be submitted.
- for students, copy of school ID and certificate of enrollment must be submitted
- If with guarantor
- guarantee letter
- proof of relationship (birth certificates, pictures)

there are 2 BEST way to exchange your Philippine peso to Japanese Yen
- Go to your Bank in the Philippines and Request for Japanese Yen - usually you have to wait until it becomes available and you have to show them your flight tickets
- apply for a gcash card and just withdraw in a 711 machine in Japan - this gives the best exchange rates than other debit cards
- not the best option but you can also use money changers in the airport or around Japan
